"Science Beat: The Research Process" is an after school science club program in pilot phase. Research scientists visit with students once each week for discussion and activities revolving around their real-life research. Students participate in group and individual activities to understand their visitor’s research program, and follow the progress of his/her research. Students become "“research partners," with access to their visiting scientist in the interim between visits through e-mail and other communication venues.
The Final week involves a visit to the research laboratory of their visiting scientist. Activities and other specifics are customized according to the needs and interests of teachers and students. For grades 7-12. Produced by
the Massachusetts Society for Medical Research, Inc. To take advantage of this free program, contact the MSMR at 978.251.1556.
