The Lucky Puppy, created by the North Carolina Association for Biomedical Research (NCABR) with special assistance from the Pennsylvania Society for Biomedical Research (PSBR), is the first coloring workbook in the nation that describes the process and excitement of scientific research, careers and the role of animals.

This 20-paged booklet tells the story of a brother and sister who take their sick puppy to the veterinarian. The veterinarian explains to the children how research enables him to choose the correct medicine to make the puppy well. Included in the booklet are activities and puzzles related to the storyline. It is designed specifically for young children (6-9), suitable for classroom, home or other setting.

Now in its third printing, NCABR has distributed more than 75,000 copies nationally and internationally.
