 Did you know that you, your friends, and your family have all benefited from animal research? Without animal research, millions of people would die each year from a variety of illnesses. Thanks to research using animals, diseases such as polio have been virtually wiped out. Other illnesses, such as diabetes and arthritis, are controlled through animal research. |

 Animals benefit from research, too! Treatments and cures for conditions that affect people help those animals who are also susceptible to those conditions. Researchers also seek to conquer diseases that only affect animals, both to improve the well-being of their research animals and to help pets and farm animals live longer, healthier lives. |
